Toy Fair 2015 is scheduled to take place Saturday, February 14 to Tuesday, February 17 in New York City. The marketplace is expected to draw nearly 30,000 industry professionals from more than 100 countries to explore hundreds of thousands of playthings from innovative American, Canadian and overseas toymakers.
“We are thrilled to report that Toy Fair 2015 is already off to a strong start,” said Marian Bossard, TIA vice president of meetings and events. “Though attendee registration has been open for less than a week, 2,000 trade guests have already registered for the show, including 1,100 global buyers.”
The marketplace was recently re-named the North American International Toy Fair (formerly the American International Toy Fair) as part of a new affiliation agreement between TIA and the Canadian Toy Association (CTA), announced this past July.
Under the agreement, CTA and TIA now have a shared membership and a single Toy Fair, rather than hosting separate marketplace events in the United States and in Canada. By hosting a single North American marketplace, toy manufacturers, retailers and the range of Toy Fair attendees will benefit from more targeted business development opportunities, greater efficiency and added cost-savings.
“As part of our new partnership, we will be working closely with CTA to provide a high-value Toy Fair experience for Canadian-based members, some of which have been coming to Toy Fair for several years, and others who will be attending for the first time,” said Bossard.
Toy Fair continues to grow in size, influence and international appeal and holds a critically important position on the global toy buying circuit. Last year’s marketplace boasted a record-breaking 414,060 net square feet of exhibit space and welcomed an 11% increase in international buyers, an 8% rise in exhibitors, and a 5% spike in overall attendees. Total attendance was 26,493.
In addition to lucrative business-building and networking opportunities, Toy Fair offers an exciting array of world-class educational programming, including learning tracks for toy inventors and designers, licensors and licensees, mass and specialty retailers, manufacturers and distributors, and more. Details about educational sessions taking place on-site at Toy Fair will be available in the coming weeks.
The 112th North American International Toy Fair will take place February 14-17, 2015. For more information or to register as an attendee, visit www.ToyFairNY.com. Exhibitor registration will open in early November.
